How and when to Apply for a Provisional Driving Licence..
Foreign Drivers
You are entitled to drive in the UK for up to one year on an international licence (certain countries may be excluded check with DVLA if you are uncertain). You may not drive with full licence entitlement any longer than that so if you intend to stay in the UK you should apply for your provisional licence as soon as possible.
UK Citizens
You can apply for your provisional licence at any point after 2 months before your 16th Birthday simply tick the moped entitlement box (you do not have to ever ride a moped it just means you can apply sooner)

What if My Licence is Wrong When it Arrives?
In the unlikely event of your provisional driving licence being incorrect when it arrives, take a photocopy of both parts then return the licence for correction. As long as you have proof that you have a licence you can continue with your driving lessons.
